Ex-Great Western Railway Collett 'Castle' class 4-6-0 No. 5042 'Winchester Castle'. Built at Swindon in July 1935 and withdrawn in June 1965.

Ex-Great Western Railway Churchward '2800' class 2-8-0 No. 2858. Built at Swindon in May 1918 and withdrawn in Jan. 1963. It's a damp day at Exeter St. David's in September 1962 and there's time for a cig on the footplate before 'Winchester Castle' departs whilst 2858 plods past with a freight.
