Ex-Great Western Railway Collett '97xx' class 0-6-0 Pannier Condensing Tank No. 9702. Built at Swindon in September 1933 and withdrawn in May 1962.
Note the 3 headlamps arranged along the rear buffer beam. This was to indicate a South Lambeth - Old Oak Common transfer freight. This turn of duty required that the locomotive, on preparation at Old Oak Common, departed the shed with 4 headlamps.

The eleven '97xx' class were specifically built for working on the Hammersmith & City line between Paddington and Smithfield Meat Market. They had condensing apparatus that fed the exhaust steam back into the water tanks. 9702 is passing the ex-SR shed at Stewarts Lane in October 1956 and is dwarfed by Hamptons and Sons furniture depository in the background.
