That cathedral of Great Western steam, Old Oak Common is the April 1963 setting for 'Castle' No. 5070 'Sir Daniel Gooch'. Argubly had it been preserved, this particular 'Castle' might have been amongst the most fitting, named as a celebration of that most remarkable of GWR Victorian locomotive engineers.
