A classic 1950s platform end shot at Bristol Temple Meads Station. ex-GWR Collett 'Castle' 5056 had been named twice, originally from May 1936 to August 1937 as 'Devizies Castle', then becoming 'Earl of St. Germans' when the names were taken off the Dukedog 4-4-0s.

Peter Kerslake says "This is the "top" end of Bristol Temple Meads with 5050 "Earl of St.Germans" looking to be fresh from Swindon Works ready for the "Right Away", destination unknown as there is no date.
The engine was housed at Shrewsbury throughout the 1950s, then Old Oak Common in late 1960 before being condemned from Bristol St.Philips Marsh in August 1963 and was broken up at Coopers' at Sharpness on the banks of the Severn the following year."
