Believed to be taken at Taunton Station circa 1880, this is an ex-Bristol & Exeter Railway 4-4-0 Broad Gauge Saddletank. There were 26 of these locomotives built 1855-73 by various firms. All had been withdrawn by 1882. This image is restored from a period sepia print.
