Ex-GWR Churchward 28xx No. 3859 is seen in April 1962 adjacent to sister engine No. 3838 on freight workings at the wonderfully named Dr. Day's Bridge Junction in Bristol. The bridge was named after a 19th century local doctor, Dr. William Edward Day, known for his 'quack' remedies including the curative properties of rhubarb! 3859 and 3838 were built at Swindon in Oct. and Jan. 1942 and were withdrawn in May 1965 and Nov. 1964 respectively.
