92004 1965-06-02 Horton Road
Peter Kerslake writes "Photographed by myself on Gloucester Horton Road shed at 2pm Banbury shed's 92004 is readied for its next call to duty in this, the last year of steam in the area. Built at Crewe in January 1954 this engine was one of eight of the class to be allocated to Ebbw Junction in South Wales to work the iron ore freights, but they were not well regarded there by footplate crews or shed staff and suffered from serious regulator and brake problems, spending a deal of time out of service as a result. 92004 still retains its Western style lamp brackets, but has additional LMR pattern brackets added to the smokebox door."
