Peter Kerslake writes "92155 has coupled up to 92212 as steam workings draw to a close in the area. Horton Road shed forms the background, with Tramway Junction just ahead out of shot on the right. The final months of steam workings through Gloucester at the end of 1965 saw a rapid reduction in the number of such workings on the South Wales line from the Midlands , particularly in the run up to the closure to steam of Severn Tunnel Junction shed . Sundays would regularly provide the spectacle of a number of London Midland Region locomotives, all in steam, coupled together and working up the main line from Gloucester to their Midlands sheds having worked down in the week on unbalanced duties, and on one occasion I photographed no less than four such engines speeding north. Here, late in the year in the dying days of steam, I have caught just two, namely 92212 and 92155 setting off past Horton Road shed towards Tramway Crossing , both in steam, but with no freight for them to work homewards."
