No.812 The Royal Naval Reserve 1859-1959 backing onto its train - the 15.00 Waterloo to Exeter. The headcode of 1O08 shows that it had worked up to London on the 07.20 from Exeter. Along with No.D800 it was the only other 'Warship' which did not have the explanatory Warship Class on its nameplate, in this case presumably because there was insufficient space! No.812 only carried blue livery from March 1970 onwards so this picture was probably taken later that year or in early 1971. It was one of the last locomotives of the class in service, being withdrawn with four others on 3 December 1972, leaving only No.D832 which went to the Derby Research Centre in January 1973.
