An impressive view of the new Diesel facility at Laira, built on the site of the former steam shed, with Kelly in charge of fuel tanks quite possibly either bound for, or coming from the fuel storage depot at Cattedown on the eastern side of Plymouth waterfront, or probably containing fuel for the depot here at Laira. The houses on the skyline at Efford were the first to be built by Plymouth City Council after the War and probably have the best views of any such development to be found elsewhere!
