GWR Saint 4-6-0 No 2902 Lady of the Lake on a down express waiting to leave Paddington in c1920.

Peter Kerslake says "The second of the "Saints" built by Swindon in May 1906 and allocated from new to Old Oak Common 2902 "Lady of the Lake" shows her distinctive squared "Drop Ends" to the front frames with prodruding valve head coves in this view distinctive to early members of the class.
"Lady ofthe Lake" distinguished herself when on the 2nd. July 1906 she headed the inaugral accellerated three hours schedule to the Westcountry from Paddington, and was also chosen to work the first two hours service between Birmingham and Paddington on the 1st July 1910 when a lucky horseshoe thrown on to the footplate as she left Snow Hill station was fixed to the cab interior and retained there during 2902's working lifetime."
