Peter Kerslake says "Transferred away from Laira to Wolverhampton Stafford Road in February 1959, King Edward IV on a working from Paddington to the West Midlands. It was the first of Laira's 'Kings' to receive a double chimney in December 1955, together with new front frames and inside cylinder block. 6017 was withdrawn from service in July 1962."
