GWR King 4-6-0 No 6003 King George IV approaches Savernake Low Level with the up 'Mayflower' from Plymouth to Paddington on June 13, 1959.
Peter kerslake adds "This would be the 8:30a.m. from Plymouth to Paddington, complete with its later Reporting Number replacing the original "605" borne for so many earlier years.
6003 spent 33 years allocated to Old Oak Common before its enforced move to Cardiff Canton in September 1960 when suitable work for the "Kings" such as this on the main West of England line came to an end but was condemned in June of 1962 after being sent back from Canton to its old home at Old Oak Common."
