The King is heading the 10.0am Newquay-Paddington
Such a distinctive location here at Teignmouth, as Old Oak's 6018, " King Henry VI " runs non stop through the station and on to the sea wall and heads towards Exeter, probably its next stop.
The impressive high lattice Eastcliff Bridge is prominent in this view, as is St. Michael's Church and there's even one of the war time observation " pillboxes " still evident.
This is still a favourite location from which to watch the trains go by, especially if there's a Steam Special about, and it is of interest to remember that the section from the end of the wall on the left to the station beyond was originally a tunnel in Brunel's Broad Gauge days
