Those houses up on the skyline at Totterdown are still there today as is the Bath Road bridge under which 6008, "King James II" runs this express into Bristol Temple Meads, doubtless heading for the Capital.
6008 has received new front frames and inside cylinder block, and the modified inside valve spindle end covers and strengthened lifting holes in the front frames confirm this as so.
The mechanical lubricator is now mounted ahead of the outside steam pipe so as to permit easier access to the lubricating points on the inside valve gear.
