6006 1930s Paddington
GWR King 4-6-0 No 6006 King George I at Paddington in c1935.
Peter Kerslake adds "this early view shows 6006 with the original design of outside steam pipes and smoothed covering ovr the middle valve chest, pleasing in appearance but not practical when wet or slippery.
I am sure that the porters blessed the day when milk started to be conveyed in purpose built tank wagons as those massive churns on the platform must have been extremely heavy to manhandle when full".
