WPR 19 1968-10 East Wemyss
On a calm evening in October 1968 WPR No. 19 simmers outside Scotts Road Signalbox (the chimney of which can be seen to the right of the locomotive smokebox). The ensemble of engine, auxiliary bunker wagon and brake van No. 1 stands at the start of the 1 in 72 embankment which takes the WPR main line over the trackbed of the ex-NBR Wemyss & Buckhaven Railway. A few yards ahead of the locomotive is a spur leading off to the left which gives access to the Scotts Road engine shed and works. The line in the bottom left of this picture is the commencement of the steeply descending branch leading to the Michael colliery.
