The Fowler shunter has been withdrawn from Bedford and sent for scrap. Perhaps Cohens has ideas of using it or selling it on as it has 'Spotters Keep Off' and 'That means you' chalked on. The local kids used to use the scrapyard as a playground in the late 1960s, an old workmate of mine, with no interest in railways, recalls many plates he collected from steam locos, only to throw them away in a house move!
