GWR Hall 4-6-0 No 4954 Plaish Hall and King 6021 King Richard II with the down Sunday Cornish Riviera at Stoneycombe on 18 August 1957.

Peter Kerslake says "
4954 "Plaish Hall" was allocated to Didcot MP.D. in 1956 and if it's still a Didcot engine at the date of this view that would be an unusual pilot engine for the down "Riviera", that job usually covered by a Laira, Newton Abbot or sometimes a Taunton engine.
Stoneyccombe is about half way on the climb westwards on Dainton, the site of a quarry located further down on the down side of the climb to Dainton tunnel.
