MS&LR 223 1885 Grimsby Dock

Manchester, Sheffield & Lincolnshire Railway Sacre '23' class 0-6-0 No. 223. Built by Shearp, Stewart & Co. in January 1867 and withdrawn in October 1909 as GCR No. 223B.

The 1880s in Grimsby is the scene for Charles Reboul Sacre's lovely '23' class 0-6-0 No. 223. The terraced houses of Garibaldi Street form the backdrop. I believe the street (and biscuit!) owed their names to a famous (in that era) Italian General, Giuseppe Garibaldi!
