Ex-GNR Gresley 'A1' No. 4473 'Solario' has suffered a broken connectiing rod whilst hauling a down express from King's Cross on Monday 2nd September 1929. A fitter is attempting to rectify some of the tangled motion by wielding his 'fine tuner' in true "give me five minutes" fashion! Onlookers - onlook... 4473 was built at Doncaster in Mar. 1923 as GNR No. 1473 and was withdrawn in Dec. 1959 as BR No. 60104. n.b. The location of 'Three Counties, Bedfordshire' is near near Arlesey.
