42231 1959-03-16 Bow Works

With 42520 in front of the little known and rarely photographed two-road engine shed in the south east corner of Bow Loco Works. 42231 has the post-1956 BR crest, making it a Neasden allocated locomotive. It visited Bow Works for Casual Damage Repairs from 3/2/59 - 9/3/59. 42520 made a one day visit to Bow works on 16/3/59 after being released from Heavy Intermediate overhaul at Derby Works on 2/3/59. Loco Record Cards show that locos returning to LTSR from Derby Works spent one day in Bow Works. Thanks to Vic Smith for his detective work on this one which came, like so many negs, with no details at all.
