Not yet withdrawn (-that would come in 7 months time). Patriot No 45507 ‘Royal Tank Corps’ at Preston MPD in March 1962. Released to traffic in 1932, this ’Patriot’ 4-6-0 was a nominal rebuild of withdrawn ‘Claughton’ No 5936, receiving its number. No part of the original engine was made use of again so the rebuild was in fact a brand new locomotive. Renumbering to 5507 took place in 1934.
