Ex-works Midland Compound No 1119 gleams in the sunshine at Crewe in May 1937. A less pristine member of the same clas sits on an adjacent road. Built by the LMS in 1925, No 1119 was finally withdrawn by BR as No 41119 in December 1958 from Llandudno shed (6G).
