This delightful scene shows an ex-L&NWR Webb '5ft. 6in' 2-4-2 Tank No. 2262 on a Down train leaving Nuneaton, Warwickshire taking the joint L&NWR/MR route with a 'local' train for Ashby-de-la-Zouch in Leicestershire. The exact location is not noted on the negative sleeve but the underbridge number plate seen on the right is No.48, Stoney Road underbridge, beyond the footbridge can be seen the bridge carrying the Leicester- Birmingham line, north of the station. This view was taken in August 1925 but the loco still retains its L&NWR number. 2242 was built at Crewe in May 1895 and was withdrawn in Nov. 1947 as LMS No. 6729.
