34036 1951-04 St Budeaux Victoria

SR WC 4-6-2 No 34036 Westward Ho on an Exeter-Plymouth train passing St.Budeaux Victoria Road in April 1951.

Peter Kerslake says "Seen here at Plymouth's St. Budeaux Victoria Road station on the Western outskirts of the City 34036 has worked down from Exeter Central through Exeter St. Davids and via Cowley Bridge through Okehampton, skirting the northern fringes of Dartmoor to Tavistock and then passing through Plymouth North Road station before ending its run at Plymouth Friary station, the Southern Region's Plymouth teminus.
These were the heaviest locomotives permitted on the north Dartmoor line due to the weight restrictions imposed by Meldon Viaduct at Okehampton."
