34080 1964-09-12 Farnborough

Up express, the signals are part of the semi-automated low pressure (air) pneumatic arrangements installed by the LSWR between Brookwood and Basingstoke.

34080 was unique in being the only original Bulleid to receive a cut-down tender (6/59) and then be retro-fitted with a non cut-down one (swopped with 34075's on this latters withdrawal in 4/64). The engine was also unique as a light pacific in having panelled cabside lining with a non cut-down tender. The tender also displays the later BR crest - not particularly common on the non cut-down variety.
