BR 9F 2-10-0 No 92220 Evening Star waits to leave Victoria with the SCTS 'Farewell to Steam' rail tour on September 20, 1964.

Peter Kerslake says "Although only enjoying just five years in service "Evening Star" did, however, make it into preservation, being rescued from Severn Tunnel Junction depot whilst on her way from her home at Cardiff East Dock to one of the nearby beakers' yards, and following accident damage in early 1965.
This fine image from 1964 has her working an Enthusiasts' Special in 1964 whilst allocated to Cardiff East Dock, her earlier and first home at nearby Canton depot having closed to steam in September of 1962 whilst "Evening Star" was helping out on the Somerset and Dorset line from Bath Green Park depot."
