Crosti 9F 2-10-0 passes Ratcliffe on Soar, south of Redhill tunnels, Trent with a Toton to Brent coal train on June 18, 1957.

Peter Kerslake says "Built in 1955 and all initially allocated to Wellingborough M.P.D. the ten 2-10-0s fitted with Franco-Crosti boilers had been intended to burn the poor quality post-war coal but their unpopularity amongst both footplatemen and shed staff saw them converted from September 1959 onwards to a more conventional design."
