There were not many months left of steam workings in the Gloucester area at the date of my picture, namely 16th. July, 1965 with 9F 92243 climbing Elmbridge bank, north of Gloucesteron the Birmingham line with a pretty substantial looking freight. The steam shed at Severn Tunnel Junction was still open to steam at this time, but by the end of that year such workings as this would be lost to steam when that facility closed .
