42125 1964-07-258 Beattock

A banking operation about to get underway at Beattock. In the distance a Black 5 is ready to go as Fairburn 2-6-4T No 42125 buffers up. The guard looks on with interest from his van, aware that the scene is being recorded on camera. The smoke and steam being liberated by No 42125 obscures the Moffat branch curving away to the right, which had closed a few weeks earlier on 6th April 1964.
