40613 1950s Skipton

A stirring scene on the Midland main line at Skipton passing under the old Carelton Road bridge at Skipton South Junction in the mid 1950s. The pilot engine, Class 2P No 40613 carries a 68A (Kingmoor) shedplate. The train engine is a rebuilt Scot identified by the rectangular sandbox on the running plate, not fitted to the rebuilt Patriot’s. No 40613 built 1929, was withdrawn in October 1961.
