NBR J36 0-6-0 No 65345 in spring 1966. With No 65288 they were the last steam locos at work on the Scottish Region of BR and were withdrawn in June 1967, however this was before it was re-allocated to Thornton Junction when it was working off Bathgate shed.

This is approaching the north end of Bathgate Lower station. Top of white 25¾ MP on embankment can be seen at rear of brakevan, with timber in Saw Mill yard on left.
