6008 1962-12-09 Swindon dump-ROneg-1710-016

December , 1962 , no less than six months from her being condemned from her then home at Wolverhampton Stafford Road and she remained here at Swindon until June of 1963 before being finally disposed of , but the boys at Swindon were in no hurry those days to dispose of their well respected quot; Kings quot; .br/ Allocated to Laira when new in 1928 for two years 6008 was moved Old Oak Common in 1930 for just a month before being reallocated to Stafford Road in August 1930 and then returning back down to Plymouth's Laira Depot in mid 1952 , finally returning to Wolverhampton again in 1959 .br/ Whilst at Laira 6008 proved to be one of their favourite quot; Kings quot; for Top Link workings between Plymouth and Paddington and a regular performer on the tightly timed and invariably heavily loadedquot; Cornish Riviera quot; .
