18000 1950-09-28 London Paddington
Gas Turbine No.18000 on arrival at Paddington with an express from Kingswear on Thursday September 28, 1950.
Peter Kerslake adds "The centre lamp shows that 18000 is ready to be taken back out to Old Oak Common. On Tuesdays and Thursdays it was used on return workings from Plymouth to Paddington, probably the 7.15.a.m. departure from Plymouth, the locomotive working down to Plymouth on the Mondays and Wednesdays. Fridays and Saturdays were "filling In" days on trains from the Capital to Bristol Temple Meads, whilst Sundays were set aside for maintenance at Old Oak Common".
