Westbound but I always get confused by the tracks out to Aller Junction, it is routed on the second line from the left - is this solely for the Torbay lines or could you get to Plymouth from this track? Note the GWR 'relief' signal on the right with its ring designating freight or relief lines and a banner repeater for the route. Presumably this line was used primarily as a headshunt.
Allan Pym answers my question "The four lines disappearing into the distance are (L-R): Down Relief; Down Main; Up Relief; Up Main. At this time both Torbay and Plymouth could be accessed from either the Main or Relief lines as there were crossovers provided at Aller Junction. The line on the far right is the Up Refuge Siding. There was a train that used to run regularly between Plymouth and Goodrington Sands, I think during the Summer timetable, that used the facilities at Newton Abbot West box to restart from the Up side after running round, this could well be that train.
