A view from the road bridge on the main Gloucester to South Wales road as 8F 48418 brings a mixed freight up from Wales and into Gloucester in the last months of steam workings on this line. Peter Kerslake writes "Severn Tunnel Junction shed was still open to steam at this time, but would cease to operate in that capacity within a few months of my photograph, thereby ending steam workings on the line. The line on the left leads to Hempsted Power Station, whilst the bridge on the right is, I believe , a survivor of the former line to Newent and Ross on Wye."
