45534 1956-05-29 Liverpool Lime Street

A rather nice shot of the fireman on Edge Hill's rebuilt " Patriot " 45534, " E. Tootal Broadhurst " makes a last attempt to get coal foward in the tender prior to leaving Liverpool Lime Street bound for Euston with the up "Manxman "
Plenty going on here with a group of interested onlookers watching the activities, but look at all that gloom and "atmosphere " billowing out from the tunnels .
A few shafts of sunlight would have been wonderful, but it wasn't to be and so I had to do my best.
Those who know about these things will doubtless be able to identify the former LMS coach behind the tender - it is a LMS Period II third open fitted with Stones ventilators - quite a common coach..
