45646 1956-05-29 Liverpool Lime Street
Peter kerslake says "Subsequent to my earlier picture of "Napier" I've braved the dark and gloom of Liverpool's Lime Street in an attempt to capture it leaving and heading into the tunnels with the 2.20.p.m. to Newcastle on 29th. May, 1956, but the odds were really against me and the persisting smoke and gloom so characteristic of Lime Street have done their best to thwart my efforts. Was there ever a more difficult main line station for the poor photographer to follow his cause , and did Lime Street rank higher than London's Liverpool Street in the "atmosphere" league? I think it did.
