1003 1958-03-07 Nantyderry bank

County 4-6-0 No 1003 County of Wilts climbs Nantyderry bank with the morning Liverpool to Plymouth express on March 7, 1958.

Peter Kerslake says "This early morning departure from Plymouth included at least one through coach at its rear destined for Glasgow, the longest through coach working on the network at that time, that portion being detached upon arrival at Crewe from where it was worked to Scotland at the head of the "Midday Scot".
The Shrewsbury crews often preferring a "County" to one of their "Castles" for this lengthy two day duty, down to Newton Abbot one day, and back home the next, and 1003, which has worked this duty from Newton Abbot is now heading back to Shrewsbury from where a London Midland Region engine will take the train forward to Crewe
".
