H class 0-4-4 tank 31324 takes water at Allhallows-0n-Sea station on Saturday 2nd December 1961 - the final day of ordinary services - coupled to the usual Maunsell pull-push set numbered between 600 and 619. The local enthusiasts were out in force! The rather bleak and flat surroundings, plus caravan parks, are obvious. A final couple of trips ran on a typically wet Sunday 3rd December, with up to six coaches hauled by C class 0-6-0s 31689 and 31695.
