GWR Castle 4-6-0 No 5055 Earl of Eldon with an up train which, judging by the "A" in the headcode, is heading for Paddington at Burlescombe. The letters were introduced in WR headcodes from the start of the 1960 Summer timetable which helps date the picture. The line to the left is the down loop line between Whiteball and Burlescombe.
