GWR Castle 4-6-0 No 7027 Thornbury Castle on a Paddington express at Aberhaw on 6 October 1957. A Sunday diversion via the Vale of Glamorgan line, a regular occurence when maintenance was taking place on the South Wales main line. The location is a little east of Aberthaw Station heading towards Rhoose. In the background the new coal powered Power Station is being built.
