Castle class 4-6-0 No 5080 Defiant heads away from Cardiff at Rumney bridge with the up 'South Wales Pullman' on June 6, 1957.

Peter Kerslake says "Renowned and local cameraman Robert Tuck is at his favoured location at Rumney Bridge on the outskirts of Cardiff and has recorded the Paddington bound "South Wales Pullman" with Landore's cleaners having turned out their own 5080 "Defiant" as usual looking its very best, the service having just left Cardiff at 6 p.m. following its earlier deprture from Swansea at 4:30 p.m., due into Paddington at 8:45 p.m., the date being the 6th. June, 1957.
"Defiant" was later moved to Llanelly in June of 1961 and following withdrawal from there in April 1963 languished at Woodham's at Barry for ten years before being purchased initially for parts but happily later restored to its former condition."
