7013 1958-10-04 Oxford

GWR Castle 4-6-0 No 7013 Bristol Castle in Oxford station on 4 October 1958.

Peter Kerslake says "As we all know this is not the original 'Bristol Castle' but is 4082 'Windsor Castle', the two locomotives exchanging identities in 1952 when the actual 'Windsor Castle' was in Worcester Works and unable to head the late King's funeral train.
The unsightly Davies and Metcalfe mechanical lubricator on the smokebox side does nothing to enhance the lines of the 'Castle'. This 7013 was condemned in February of 1965 whereas the 'new' 4082 'Windsor Castle' lasted at Gloucester Horton Road depot until August of 1964."
