GWR Castle No 5052 Earl of Radnor in Sonning Cutting with the up Torbay Express on June 27, 1959.

Peter kerslake says "The 'Torbay Express' rosters were shared between Old Oak Common and Newton Abbot locomotives and crews working away from home one day and returning the next with 'Castles' the favoured choice of motive power and those housed at Newton Abbot being particularly well maintained.
Old Oak's 'Earl of Radnor' is going well here on the up fast road through Sonning Cutting, to the east of Reading having left its starting point at Kingswear at 11: 25 a.m. and due into Paddington at 3:35p.m., the engine having been transferred to Old Oak Common from Cardiff Canton in January of 1957, later heading to Bristol St. Philip's Marsh in September 1960, the very same month that the former principal depot at Bristol Bath Road closed, 5052 ending its days exactly two years later."
