BR 'Class 24' Bo-Bo Diesel No. D5080. Built at Crewe in March 1960 and withdrawn in September 1976 as TOPS No. 24080. The platforms have been rationalised and the overhead catenary now clutters the sky at Northampton Castle Station. The driver of D5080 eyes the photographer as he and his steed drift by with a lengthy and varied southbound freight in August 1965.
