Tony Roberts comments "For some unknown reason, to me at least, 60112 was a favourite engine of our then Shed Master, Mr. Mercer. I recollect being called into his office to do a complete change of the superheater elements whilst it was 'On Shed'. Didn't find even one leaking tube or bird's nest, but had to fit and expand a full set of elements into the header just the same. Dirty job, though my Mate and I had a laugh or two whilst in the smokebox"
