Straker Bedster Exhibition train 1969-10 Kensington Olympia

Straker Bedster Exhibition train 1969-10 Kensington Olympia

About 30 mainly LMS Stanier coaches were converted for exhibition use.

Peter Hall says: These are two of the fourteen exhibition vans numbered 38736-38749. The number of the nearest is visible beneath the E of TRAINEX. The vans were not based at Salisbury until 1976, prior to that those used by Train Ex were fitted out and stabled when not in use at Wimborne. Kensington Olympia was where they usually berthed when in London and where Rea Mobile Marketing fitted out and stabled the vans they were using. The Straker Bedster train was one of the earliest 'Train Ex' Exhibition trains.
