7821 1950s Dainton
Banked by a 41xx up from Aller Junction
Dainton Bank in all its glory and just up from Stoneycombe Quarry I believe with, if the note is correct, 7821 Ditcheat Manor from 84E, (Tyseley) making a rare visit to the far West on what looks like a substantial rake of heavily loaded coal wagons.
Doubtless after being held in the Refuge Siding at the bottom of the bank this freight has picked up one of Newton Abbot's bankers for this one in thirty six climb to Dainton tunnel at the summit of the bank .
It's not like this today at this location, with the vegetation completely out of control on both sides of the tracks , as is now so often the case.
